World number 92 Alexei Popyrin snapped a poor run of form with an impressive straight-sets victory over Lorenzo Musetti on Thursday. Since then world number 23 Marin Cilic has significantly improved his level and won two further titles to bring his career total up to an illustrious 20 including, of course, his US Open title from 2014. The 33-year-old was shocked in his first match at Indian Wells by the ever-improving Miomir Kecmanovic and he has a three-match losing streak to snap here against hard-hitting Popyrin. Cilic should be backed to win outright here despite Popyrin’s performance so far in Miami but backing the Croat to win at least a set would be the cautious call inside an accumulator.
