FABIAN MAROZSAN VS MIKHAIL KUKUSHKIN PREDICTION
24-year-old Fabian Marozsan set a career-high ATP world ranking of 36th at the start of this month, built mostly on his remarkable efforts across the Sunshine Double, but he has so far struggled to make an impact on clay. The 24-year-old shocked Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets at the Italian Open last season to announce himself as one to watch and he has delivered since, with deep runs at the Shanghai Masters, Indian Wells and the Miami Open, despite some erratic results on clay this swing.
This looks a highly winnable opener against Mikhail Kukushkin, with the 36-year-old veteran qualifying well this week to make his first major main draw since Wimbledon in 2022. The Kazakh has enjoyed plenty of success on the Challenger circuit this season but Marozsan should have too much energy, and big-game charisma, to suffer an upset. Back the Hungarian to win.
