THE PREDICTION

World number five Andrey Rublev saved several set points against an improving Andy Murray on Friday before blasting through the second to win in straight sets. The 26-year-old has a point to prove this fortnight after a controversial, but no less ugly, disqualification from the Dubai Tennis Championships for aggressive behaviour towards a line judge last time out and that outburst coupled with recent defeats to Alex de Minaur and Jakub Mensik suggest he is struggling to find his best level on tour.

World number 32 Jiri Lehecka came back from a set down to beat Brandon Nakashima on Friday and he will be aiming to emulate fellow young Czech Mensik in this intriguing clash with Rublev. The pair share some similar strengths in these conditions but Rublev won their meeting in the second round here last season to lead their head-to-head 2-1 and it would be a surprise to see him crash out at this early stage. Back the Russian to win outright, with Lehecka impressing in several tight three-setters in recent weeks.

TIP: ANDREY RUBLEV TO WIN
