THE PREDICTION

World number seven Andrey Rublev came back from a set down to beat Soonwoo Kwon in four on Tuesday but the 24-year-old’s recent temper issues resurfaced. The Russian has visibly drawn blood by punching his racket on several occasions in recent months as he continues to struggle with his game, although he has won a further three ATP titles this season at the Open 13, Dubai Tennis Championships and the Serbia Open. Rublev beat Novak Djokovic at the latter to claim a third title on clay from his total of 11 ATP titles but he clearly has issues with his own game on this surface that world number 65 Federico Delbonis should look to exploit.

The 31-year-old can be a tricky opponent on his day and a straight-sets victory over Adrian Mannarino on Tuesday is a great start to his Roland-Garros campaign. Delbonis reached the round of 16 last season in some of his better form and he took a set before defeat to Rublev in their only previous meeting at Wimbledon last season. Backing the Argentine to take at least a set looks the shrewd move here with Rublev still the clear favourite to come through.
