World number 26 Tallon Griekspoor beat Alex de Minaur twice last season in their only tour-level matches to date, coming back from a set down at ‘s-Hertogenbosch en-route to his most recent of two ATP titles. The Dutchman overcame Dominik Koepfer in three sets on Sunday to get a strong foothold in at Monte-Carlo but world number 11 De Minaur impressed against Stan Wawrinka on Tuesday, conceding just three games to the former number three to look the more potent threat. 25-year-old De Minaur spent a lot of his formative years on the clay in Barcelona but he has yet to make a really significant dent on the surface, whilst Griekspoor’s powerful all-court game is well capable of out-lasting foes. Back De Minaur to earn at least a set to leave the victor up to chance.
