World number 29 Veronika Kudermetova needed three sets to get past Chinese qualifier Lin Zhu on Monday but she should be the better for an early warning in what could be a promising campaign at Roland-Garros. World number 114 Aleksandra Krunic backed up a solid qualifying campaign with a straight-sets win over Kamila Rakhimova. The Serb is yet to make it past the second round of Roland-Garros. Krunic was the winner of their only previous meeting at ‘s-Hertogenbosch back in 2018 on grass but Kudermetova has come on leaps and bound in recent years and she looks the solid favourite to come through here.
