It’s not looking promising for David Warner’s side as their hopes of a play-off place are starting to diminish after a damaging 71-run defeat at the hands of Perth Scorchers last time out. Whilst they are technically still just two points adrift of the top four, the Thunder’s net-run-rate is by far the worst of any team which is likely to cost them down the stretch.

Hobart Hurricanes beat Warner’s men by four wickets in their opening game and the reigning champions have since added another three wins to their overall tally. Despite losing their last match, the Hurricanes remain one of the best teams in the competition and their batters should be able to tuck into this under-par Thunder bowling attack in the same way that Perth did. With that in mind, back Hobart to subject the hosts to what would be their fifth loss in six BBL games.
