St. George Illawarra Dragons team news
Heralded young forward Loko Jnr Pasifiki Tonga has been named for his NRL debut against the Warriors. The 19-year-old comes into the side for Emre Guler (shoulder injury). Pasifiki Tonga will be one of the NRL’s biggest players when he debuts at 196 cm tall and weighing in at 121 kilograms. Head Coach Shane Flanagan has named the same halves pairing of son Kyle and Lhykan King-Togia that faced the Tigers, meaning Lachlan Ilias again misses out.

Prolific try scorer Dallin Watene-Zelezniak has been named on the wing. He is yet to make an appearance this season after suffering a wrist injury in a pre-season trial. Ed Kosi is the odd man out. Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has been named on the extended bench in a sign of things to come for the Warriors.

St. George Illawarra Dragons vs New Zealand Warriors prediction
The St George Dragons find themselves in danger of slipping away from sight of the top eight. A disappointing result last week against the West Tigers leaves the team in 10th position on the ladder with just the three wins so far this season. A fast start was quickly erased by a 20-point burst in 20 minutes from the Tigers leading into halftime.
The Warriors defeated the North Queensland Cowboys 30 points to 26 in a Magic round classic. The Warriors enjoyed a large lead just out of halftime but the Cowboys stormed home to almost steal it. The Warriors currently sit in a lofty third place on the ladder, interestingly though, their for and against sits at zero which is far inferior to the other teams in the top eight.
These two sides have split their last eight matchups with four wins each. Most recently the Dragons defeated the Warriors 30-12 in Round 7 last year. The two sides will meet again in August.
Luke Metcalfe has been directing his side around the park very well as part of this Warriors three game winning streak and with four of their next five games on the road, this looms as an important period for the Warriors as they continue their push for a coveted top four position.
We think the Warriors are playing well enough to record a victory on the road against the Dragons.
