THE TEAM NEWS

HULL KR

  • Hull KR were able to end a three-match losing streak in strong fashion as their second half display saw them blitz Leigh Centurions last week and that success keeps them in the mix for a play-off spot.
  • This is now a must-win contest as they take on top six rivals Castleford Tigers and while Rovers are boosted by the return of halfback Jordan Abdull, they will have to overcome a side that they have beaten in just one of their last four matches in all competitions.

21-man squad: Crooks, Minikin, Kenny-Dowall, Hall, Abdull, Vete, Parcell, Takairangi, Linnett, Litten, King, Storton, Dagger, Lewis, Keyes, Milnes, Maher, Johnson, Mustapha, Tate, Keinhorst

CASTLEFORD TIGERS

  • Castleford Tigers produced a brilliant response to being nilled by Wigan Warriors as they overcame Salford Red Devils despite fielding a makeshift halfback pairing in their Magic Weekend clash.
  • The Tigers made it five wins from their last six matches thanks to that success and are within touching distance of finishing in the play-offs which would be a superb achievement considering their poor start to the year coupled with a long injury list.

21-man squad: Evalds, Olpherts, Mata’utia, Shenton, Richardson, McShane, Holmes, Milner, Massey, Griffin, Foster, O’Neill, Hepi, Clare, Sene-Lefao, Smith, Matagi, Turner, Bienek, Peachey, O’Brien

THE PREDICTION

This is a huge game in the race for the play-offs with Hull KR needing to beat Castleford Tigers to keep their season alive. A win for Cas would secure their spot in the top six and they will be confident having won five of their last six outings. Rovers on the other hand have won just one of their last four with that victory coming against bottom side Leigh Centurions last week. The hosts will hope to capitalise on the Tigers’ issues in the halves but the away side have managed to cope well regardless of late and they can come out on top again to earn the win they need to prolong their season.
