Delhi Capitals are officially drinking in the last chance saloon. Back-to-back defeats leading into this game makes it seven losses for Axar Patel’s side across 11 games and with a five-point gap between them and the top four, losing here would be the final nail in their coffin as only two league stage matches will remain for the Capitals following their trip to Dharamsala.

Punjab Kings meanwhile, have their own play-off hopes firmly in their own hands with three games to go. Victory over the Capitals would be their seventh of the campaign but they come into this latest encounter out of form following three straight losses. Two of those were fairly close but the bowling attack needs to improve, particularly when it comes to number of wickets taken per game to give them more of a chance.

Playing on what is likely to be a more friendly bowling surface in Dharamsala compared to what we are used to seeing at the IPL should suit this Punjab unit. Combine that with how relatively mediocre Delhi have been all season long and backing the Kings has to be favoured.
