West Indies got the better of New Zealand in a close one on Wednesday. Scoring 164/6 batting first, an excellent effort with the ball saw them hold the hosts to 157/9, taking wickets at key stages and securing a seven-run victory. This despite the efforts of Mitchell Santner late on for the Black Caps, who almost helped pull off what would’ve been a fantastic run chase.

But when taking into account how close that first match was and how well-matched the two teams proved to be, it would be no surprise to see the script flipped in game two. New Zealand have the batters to overcome West Indies and will have learned a lot about their opponents’ bowling unit last time out. Therefore, back this series to be levelled up.
