New Zealand vs South Africa prediction

You could argue that New Zealand have been one of the best sides across the tournament so far when taking into account their two prior performances heading into this top of the table showdown in Group D. The Black Caps followed up an impressive five-wicket triumph over Afghanistan with a ten-wicket demolition of UAE which saw the opening pairing of Tim Seifert and Finn Allen put up an unbroken stand of 175 to make mincemeat of their victory target.

Seifert in particular is enjoying an outstanding tournament with knocks of 65 and 89 not out so far. But South Africa have recorded scores of 213/4 and 187/6 across two games, batting first on each occasion so if anyone can match New Zealand’s recent high run-accumulation, it’s the Proteas. However, New Zealand have defeated South Africa in four of their last five T20i encounters and backing them to emerge narrowly victorious should be seriously considered.
