New Zealand vs England prediction

England may have won the three-match T20i series but it was a hollow victory with two of the three games washed out and the only completed fixture a comprehensive win for the tourists. New Zealand will be glad to shift onto the 50-over games as key batter Kane Williamson returns to the fold, whilst England will rest fast bowler Jofra Archer in this first ODI, which you could argue tips the scales in New Zealand’s favour early on.

But the biggest concern from an England perspective is just how poor they’ve been in ODI cricket for an extended period of time now. Head coach Brendon McCullum has failed to arrest the slide and the sheer lack of 50-over cricket played by much of the England squad has taken its toll. This also bodes well for the Black Caps, who will be confident of success in the longer white ball format. With that in mind, explore backing New Zealand to take an early series lead.
