In a battle that went right to the final day of group stage action, it was Manchester Super Giants and SunRisers Leeds who ended up second and third-place respectively, setting up this eliminator match at the Kia Oval. These two transpennine rivals faced off earlier this week with Manchester thrashing Leeds by ten wickets at Emirates Old Trafford, chasing down 128 in just 67 balls.
However, you would expect a much-improved and locked in SunRisers side for this knockout fixture with a place in the final at stake. Having said that, they haven’t really proven themselves away from home across the entire tournament. Whilst all four games played at Headingley have ended in SunRisers wins, Zak Crawley’s side have lost three from four on the road. The Super Giants on the other hand, picked up notable victories both at Lord’s and the Utilita Bowl.
There is plenty of batting power and world class hitting across both teams and you’d expect the bowling to be what decides this one.
