Ireland vs West Indies prediction
Ireland won’t be able to call upon Josh Little for this series, with the left-arm pacer unable to shake off an injury in training, so Graham Hume has replaced him in the Irish squad. Also out for the hosts are Curtis Campher, Gareth Delany and Craig Young, so captain Paul Stirling and the coaching staff will be forced to reshuffle their pack.
West Indies though, are without a star in Nicholas Pooran. One of the most devastating T20 batters in the world, Pooran has retired from international cricket and his absence leaves a bucketload of runs on the table from a West Indian perspective. But they have a stronger T20 base to work with despite not having Pooran than Ireland does.
Weather is likely to play a defining role in this one with a result likely hard to come by with heavy rain scheduled. If there is to be enough play to find a winner, backing West Indies would be the sensible move.
