India are a formidable Test nation at home and West Indies have a tall order ahead to compete with them. Experts at playing the conditions and grinding their opponents into the dirt with the bat, expect a big first innings total from the hosts in Ahmedabad before their spin-bowlers really get to work as the Test goes on and the pitch begins to break up, offering substantial turn.
West Indies are capable of a big score themselves in the first innings. But their batters are likely to struggle with excess spin down the stretch and they lack the world class bowlers in that department to really hurt India, although the Windies do have some good pace options. In the end though, India are clear favourites and will be expected to triumph.
