That happens as time goes on but there must always be a consistency throughout one’s career to hit heights akin to that of Leo Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. Kylian Mbappe and Erling Braut Haaland look set on dominating the next decade.

How many players have made a name for themselves early on in the UEFA Champions League and maintained their performance level throughout, though? This is a list of the youngest goal scorers in UEFA Champions League history…

Cesc Fabregas went on to win pretty much every trophy there is to win, both at club and international level, whilst Mateo Kovacic has also become a UEFA Champions League winner and an integral part of FIFA World Cup bronze medalists.

Peter Ofori-Quaye, who scored Olympiacos’ consolation match in a hammering in Norway in 1997. The Ghanaian international went on to play for six years at the club before moving on and becoming a bit of a journeyman for the rest of his career and not matching the heights of becoming the youngest ever UEFA Champions League goal scorer.

As for the two youngest players, their stories are yet to be written with high hopes for Barcelona’s Ansu Fati, who has been hit by injuries throughout his short career so far. Antonio Nusa remains a prospect at Club Brugge, behind the likes of Andreas Skov Olsen, Noa Lang, Ferran Jutgla, Cyle Larin, Tajon Buchanan, Roman Yaremchuk and Kamal Sowah in the attacking pecking order.
