THE TEAM NEWS

HERTHA

  • Hertha impressed in their first Bundesliga game under coach Ante Covic as they held champions Bayern Munich to a 2-2 draw in Munich, which will give them confidence going into this one.
  • Right-back Peter Pekarik returned to full training this week but having missed most of pre-season, he is unlikely to feature, while summer signing Dedryck Boyata is set to miss out again.
  • Salomon Kalou could replace Mathew Leckie on the wing, which would probably see a reversion to a 4-2-3-1 formation, but no other changes from the side that started against Bayern are anticipated.

Predicted line-up (4-2-3-1): Jarstein; Klunter, Rekik, Stark, Mittelstadt; Grujic, Darida; Lukebakio, Duda, Kalou; Ibisevic

Unavailable: Plattenhardt (Injured)

Doubtful: Maier (Injured), Boyata (Injured), Dilrosun (Injured)

WOLFSBURG

  • New Wolfsburg boss Oliver Glasner came through his first test in the German Bundesliga with a 2-1 win at home to newly promoted Koln last Saturday.
  • Admir Mehmedi could be available having missed last weekend's match with back pain but summer signing Paulo Otavio is unlikely to make the trip to Berlin.
  • Talisman Wout Weghorst, who opened his account for the season against Koln, had to pull out of training on Thursday but his involvement is not thought to be in danger.

Predicted line-up (3-4-3): Casteels; Knoche, Brooks, Guilavogui; William, Arnold, Schlager, Roussillon; Klaus, Weghorst, Joao Victor

Unavailable: Ignacio Camacho (Injured), Ginczek (Injured)

Doubtful: Otavio (Injured), Mehmedi (Injured)

MATCH ANALYSIS

Wolfsburg frontman Wout Weghorst scored the only goal of the game when these sides last met in February and the Dutchman is already up and running in the new season. He is a strong contender to score here against a team who have kept just one clean sheet at home in 2019.
