THE PREDICTION

Whilst Everton find themselves in the midst of a relegation battle in the Premier League, they have quietly reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, one game away from Wembley and three games away from lifting their first piece of major silverware since this same trophy back in 1995. However, standing in their way are the in-form Crystal Palace, arguably the biggest club in England never to have won a major trophy in their history. The Eagles are unbeaten in their last five in all competitions and have developed into a really strong team both defensive and offensively under Patrick Viera, most recently holding Man City to a 0-0 draw in the Premier League. However, the FA Cup can see form go out of the window and without the pressure of a survival scrap weighing heavily on their shoulders, we could see a more fearless, feisty Everton. Little is likely to separate these two teams over 90 minutes and smart play may well be backing the draw and for this tie to be decided via extra time, or even penalties.
