THE LOWDOWN

MAN UTD

The mood in the Man Utd camp is low right now with Erik ten Hag's men having lost five of their last seven games in all competitions - the latest a crushing defeat to Galatasaray at Old Trafford in the Champions League.

The Red Devils are languishing in tenth place heading into the weekend's action, and Ten Hag will be keen to sort out their defensive shape as they have simply been too disorganised at the back in recent weeks. There are also concerns in the attacking areas with the likes of Marcus Rashford underperforming, but Rasmus Hojlund's midweek brace should at least inspire some confidence that they can trouble Brentford.

BRENTFORD

After a promising start to the season, Brentford have struggled in recent weeks having now gone five games in all competitions without tasting victory, their latest outing a particularly frustrating 1-1 draw with ten-man Nottingham Forest.

It was the Bees who took the lead at the City Ground last Sunday when Christian Norgaard found the net just two minutes after Moussa Niakhate was sent off for Forest. However, the lead wasn't to last long as Nicolas Dominguez restored parity in the 65th minute. Neal Maupay went close to winning it for the visitors late on, but ultimately it was a missed opportunity for Thomas Frank's men.

THE TEAM NEWS

MAN UTD

Eight players remain sidelined for Man Utd, including Jadon Sancho who is not being considered for selection right now, but Antony is in-line to start despite his recent off-the-field issues.

Should the Brazilian start on the right, it would allow for Ten Hag to select what is likely to be his favoured front four.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Onana; Dalot, Varane, Lindelof, Ambrabat; Casemiro, Eriksen; Antony, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund

UNAVAILABLE: Martinez (Injured), Malacia (Injured), Shaw (Injured), Wan-Bissaka (Injured), Reguilon (Injured), Mainoo (Injured), Diallo (Injured), Sancho (Disciplinary)

QUESTIONABLE:

BRENTFORD

It's as you were in terms of Brentford team news with Thomas Frank not expecting any of his injured contingent to be available for the trip to Old Trafford, although Ben Mee is the closest to a recovery.

Thomas Frank tends to keep a very settled side and there is little to suggest he will rotate his pack here, with Keane Lewis-Potter once again filling in for the injured Kevin Schade in attack.

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Flekken; Ajer, Collins, Pinnock, Hickey; Jensen, Norgaard, Janelt; Mbeumo, Wissa, Lewis-Potter

UNAVAILABLE: Mee (Injured), Henry (Injured), Damsgaard (Injured), Dasilva (Injured), Baptiste (Injured), Schade (Injured), Toney (Suspended)

QUESTIONABLE:

THE PREDICTION

There is growing discontent within a certain section of Man Utd fans right now with the sound of boos around Old Trafford becoming an increasingly common occurrence. They have lost three of their last four home games in all competitions, while defeat here would mark the first time they have lost three home league games in a row since 1979. However, visiting Brentford are hardly on top form right now, so you'd have to back the hosts to get back to winning ways here. Anything other than a win would see Erik ten Hag come under significant pressure.

TIP: MAN UTD TO WIN
