NEW ZEALAND

• New Zealand responded brilliantly to their loss against Pakistan, beating India by eight wickets this past Sunday to ignite their Super 12s campaign.
• The Black Caps brought Adam Milne straight into the side and the fast bowler picked up one wicket in an excellent all-round performance from a New Zealand bowling unit that is not likely to be tinkered with heading into this match.

SCOTLAND

• A second successive Super 12s defeat for Scotland leaves their tournament hopes hanging by a threat and victory desperately needed here if they are to stand any possible chance of qualifying for the semi-finals.
• Scotland face an anxious wait over the fitness of their captain Kyle Coetzer, who is expected to take his place at the top of the order if passed fit, with wicketkeeper Matthew Cross moving back down into the middle order.

THE PREDICTION

Scotland’s batting across the Super 12 stage so far has not proven strong enough and after being rolled out for just 60 against Afghanistan, a score of 109/8 was not enough to defend against Namibia last time out. Things are not expected to get any easier for the Scots here against a world class New Zealand bowling attack riding the crest of a wave after their dominant performance against India. Add that to the form of captain Kane Williamson alongside a Kiwi batting unit full of experience on the big stage and it is expected that New Zealand will make light work of Scotland in this one provided they maintain the same level of performance that Williamson’s men showed against India.
