Wigan Warriors team news: No French after final

After making an amazing comeback from injury at Wembley, it may have come at a cost for Bevan French, who won’t feature in Perpignan. Neither will the suspended duo of Harry Smith and Sam Walters, a double blow for Wigan Warriors.

Squad: Jai Field, Zach Eckersley, Adam Keighran, Jake Wardle, Ethan Havard, Brad O’Neill, Luke Thompson, Junior Nsemba, Liam Farrell, Kaide Ellis, Patrick Mago, Oliver Partington, Jack Farrimond, Sam Eseh, Tom Forber, Kian McDermott, Taylor Kerr, Nathan Lowe, Noah Hodkinson, George O’Loughlin, George Marsden

Catalans Dragons vs Wigan Warriors prediction

After their memorable win at Wembley, it remains to be seen what version of Wigan Warriors we will see here away at Catalans Dragons. But with key personnel missing, the expectation is that they will not be as strong and the Dragons need to try and take advantage of that. They are coming off the back of a much-needed win away to York Knights, so spirits are up within their camp.

When considering there’s no French, Smith or Walters, Matt Peet’s options are depleted and there’s no doubt that Wigan are nowhere near as good a team without French in particular. With that in mind, the smart move would be backing Catalans Dragons to pull off a surprise victory.
