THE LOWDOWN
John Riel Casimero (31-4) will defend his WBO bantamweight world title as a huge favourite and having seen off some quality opponents of late, he will be confident of retaining his crown for the third time in succession. Camiermo edged Guillermo Rigondeaux by means of a split decision in his latest outing having also seen off previously undefeated Duke Micah as well as Zolnai Tete, Cesar Ramirez and Ricardo Espinoza, all of which were by way of KO.
Paul Butler (33-2) claimed the vacant WBO bantamweight intentional title in his last bout as he came out on top of a split decision against Willibaldo Garcia but this is a huge step up in class. A former world champion, Butler is no stranger to fights like these but the quality of his opponents has waned over the years with him facing a couple of opponents with losing records in his last four bouts.

Paul Butler faces an almighty task to become a world champion once again as he faces the dangerous John Riel Casimero. The Brit has been involved in some low-key affairs over the last couple of years and with Casimero beating some of the best in the division, the gulf in quality looks set to be evident here and the Philippine should be able to add to his 21 KOs in this bout to retain his WBO bantamweight world title.
