Malaysia got the better of Hong Kong by eight wickets in a crucial group stage victory which turned out to be decisive for them, as a washout followed vs Oman, sealing Malaysia quarter-final place. Waiting for them are Bangladesh and the Tigers are clearly hunting a gold medal having named a stacked squad for the tournament.
Litton Das captains Bangladesh and their side includes the likes of Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman and Najmul Hossain Shanto. It’s an experienced unit and one that should outclass Malaysia over the course of this match, although T20 cricket can be unpredictable and the Tigers cannot afford to let their performance levels drop. Any outcome other than a Bangladesh win though, would be a surprise.
