The first ODI was a blowout, but the second proved incredibly tight with India pushing the hosts right to the end. Unfortunately for them, they failed to get Cooper Connolly out and the young middle order batter’s unbeaten 61 helped guide the tail home with two wickets to spare. It was a tough pill for India to swallow following a much-improved performance, although consecutive ducks for Virat Kohli may be cause for concern.
India are clearly missing Jasprit Bumrah within their bowling attack, not to mention Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja. Australia have rolled out their big guns with Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa, which is paying huge dividends. It’s hard to back against those weapons with the ball, so back the hosts to secure a sweep.
