SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
- Seattle produced a gutsy display to overcome a raucous crowd in Philadelphia as they defeated the Eagles and move on to the Divisional Round with another tough trip in store as they head to Green Bay.
- The Seahawks picked up another injury in last week’s game with defensive end Ziggy Ansah leaving the field with a neck problem and he is questionable to suit up in this clash.
- Guard Mike Iupati joined tackle Duane Brown on the sidelines as the pair were inactive last week and they are both doubtful once again for this contest while fellow tackle George Fant will also be a game-time decision for head coach Pete Carroll with his offensive line potentially hugely under-strength for their most important game of the season.
GREEN BAY PACKERS
- Green Bay had to overcome a 14-point half-time deficit against Detroit before Mason Crosby’s game-winning walk-off field goal sealed the #2 seed in the NFC for the Packers which handed them the week off last week.
- The Packers have not always performed at their best this season and that was the case again in the first half against the Lions but they showed what they can do and will fancy their chances of at least progressing to the NFC Championship game.
- Running back Jamaal Williams missed the Week 17 clash due to injury while center Corey Linsley and right tackle Bryan Bulaga suffered knocks in that game but the week off has served them well and none of the three carry an injury designation into this game.
THE PREDICTION
Green Bay will need to produce the type of performance they know they are capable of if they are to beat Seattle in this Divisional Round matchup. The Seahawks did what was required in their win over Philadelphia last week and they will push the Packers all the way here. This game could go either way but with cold weather expected and potential snow, the running games of the two teams are likely to be decisive and that will give the Packers the edge.
