THE PREDICTION
Melbourne failed to defend their Premiership as they struggled to perform in the finals and went out with a whimper last year. They lost both of their games, firstly against Sydney Swans before they failed to overcome Brisbane Lions. The Demons will be desperate to get off to a good start here as they aim to lay down a marker for the year and will be confident of doing so as they take on Western Bulldogs. The away side were knocked out in week 1 of the finals after narrowly qualifying in eighth spot and they look set to go down to the Demons in this one in what would be a third successive loss against the Melbourne outfit.
