The question now is whether De Jong can recover in time and go again, this time against Zizou Bergs, who won his match in four sets. The Belgian managed to step up a gear from the third set onwards and will be confident of a big performance here.

Bergs reached the third-round last year and won’t be phased by the occasion. If he is able to rise to the performance levels he showed in the latter two sets in his first-round match, then he should ultimately wind up too strong for De Jong, who may well end up running out of gas.
