Zizou Bergs continued his fine form on Tuesday as he eliminated two-time winner in Doha, Roberto Bautista Agut, in straight sets. The Belgian is in the form of his life right now having risen to his highest-ever world ranking and he is showing no signs of slowing up.
He meets Daniil Medvedev who desperately needed a win on Tuesday and he showed great character to get it. Facing Karen Khachanov who he knows so well, Medvedev lost the first set but bounced back to run out 4-6 7-5 6-3 winner and make it through.
It has been a tough start to 2025 for Medvedev but there are some positive signs. He was showing some frustration on Tuesday with the long rallies and the court and balls playing slower than he would have wished but he adapted well and raised his game.
