Zizou Bergs vs Arthur Fery prediction
Zizou Bergs extended his winning run to seven matches as he beat Jaime Faira in the second-round of Wimbledon. The Belgian crucially went in front after edging ahead in the first set tiebreak, and despite Faria levelling the match in the second, Bergs would regroup to win 7-6 (6) 4-6 6-2 6-3. He will face British wildcard Arthur Fery in round three.
Fery is now the only Brit left in the main draw as he came from a set down to beat Otto Virtanen on Court 18. Virtanen defeated fourth seed Ben Shelton in a dramatic first-round match and started well here, but Fery would mount a fine comeback, winning 5-7 7-6 (3) 6-3 6-3. It’s been a brilliant grass court season for the 23-year-old, as he also advanced to his first ever tour-level quarter-final at Queen’s Club.
Fery will have home support behind him, along with the momentum of those two victories, but it’s difficult to look past an in-form Bergs.
