Zachary Svajda vs Adam Walton prediction
Zachary Svajda earned his first ever main draw win at Roland Garros as he came from a set down to beat Alexei Popyrin. Svajda had lost five of his six matches on clay in the lead up to this tournament, and he looked in trouble as Popyrin took the lead after winning the first set. However, the American was not broken on serve in the next two sets as he took control of the match. Popyrin dominated the start of the fourth and looked set to force a decider when he was serving for it at 5-4. However, Svadja would win the next three games to seal a 3-6 6-4 7-6 (3) 7-5 win.
He now takes on Adam Walton. The Australian pulled off one of the upsets of the first-round as he beat former world number one and US Open champion Daniil Medvedev in five sets. Medvedev went 4-2 up in the decider, but Walton kept battling and got his reward as he reeled off the final four games to complete a 6-2 1-6 6-1 1-6 6-4 victory after three hours and 22 minutes.
This will go down as Walton’s biggest win of his career so far, but his overall level on clay is still unproven. He will be a slight favourite against Svajda, but the American should be able to make this very competitive.
Zachary Svajda vs Adam Walton tip: Over 36.5 games
