Yunchaokete Bu vs Lorenzo Sonego prediction

Yunchaokete Bu advanced to the second-round of the Canadian Open after beating Vit Kopriva in straight sets. Bu had the chances to seal a more comfortable victory but only took three out of a possible 14 break point opportunities. Nevertheless, the Chinese player was always in control and raced ahead in the second set to win 7-6 6-2. He now has three wins from his last five matches.

Lorenzo Sonego will be his opponent in the second-round. The Italian did not get his North American summer off to the best of starts as he lost 7-5 7-5 to compatriot Matteo Arnaldi in his first match at the Washington Open. He has four defeats in his last five matches on hard court, stretching back to his poor performances in Dubai, Indian Wells and Miami.

Sonego will be the favourite for this one, but Bu served well in his last match and is likely to make this a very competitive second-round contest. We give the Italian the edge, but he will need to be switched on from the off.
