Yunchaokete Bu vs Juan Manuel Cerundolo prediction
Yunchaokete Bu has not had the Asian swing he would have hoped for so far and will seek to register his first win in four matches at the Shanghai Masters. Bu got through to the quarter-finals of Winston-Salem in August but it’s been tough going for the Chinese player since then. He lost to Valentin Royer in straight sets in round one of the US Open and then was on the end of a defeat to the returning Zhizhen Zhang in Hangzhou despite holding two match points. Last week, he lost to Alex de Minaur in the first-round of the China Open.
Juan Manuel Cerundolo is his opponent in the first-round. The Argentine attempted to qualify for the Japan Open last week but failed to do so. He did win the Guangzhou Challenger a few weeks ago but hasn’t been able to carry the momentum, as he also lost in Chengdu early on to Lorenzo Sonego.
Bu will have home support behind him and that could propel him to a much-needed victory over Cerundolo in the first-round.
