Yue Yuan vs Yulia Putintseva prediction
Yue Yuan will hope to impress at her home tournament after a period of poor form. She is without a win in her last four matches, losing in the first-round of the US Open and then being on the end of a defeat for China in the Billie Jean King Cup to Elisabetta Cocciaretto of Italy. She can still be a threat on hard courts, highlighted by her run from the qualifying stages to round three of the Cincinnati Open last month.
Yulia Putintseva also could not come away with the singles win in the competition as she was defeated by Emma Navarro, with Kazakhstan losing in the quarter-finals to the United States. She has struggled this season for the most part and has lost 12 of her 20 matches on hard courts in 2025. Putinsteva showed promise right at the start of her campaign with a semi-final finish in Adelaide, but she has failed to recapture that form since.
Yuan will be desperate to perform in front of her home fans and despite her disappointing results, she is more than talented enough to defeat Putinsteva in the first-round.
