Yue Yuan vs Mirra Andreeva prediction

Yue Yuan delighted the home fans in Beijing as she advanced to the next round after a comfortable win over Oleksandra Oliynykova. The wildcard was in control for large parts of the match, winning 6-2 6-3. This was her first tour-level victory since the Charleston Open in April, along with her first win over a top 50 opponent since beating Diana Shanider in the second-round of Cincinnati last year.

She now faces Roland Garros champion Mirra Andreeva. The Russian began her Asian swing in Singapore last week, but she could only reach the quarter-finals after a second successive loss to Leylah Fernandez. At the US Open, she had two match points in her quarter-final match to wrap up a straight sets victory over Coco Gauff, but the American would fight back to win. It’s still been a stellar year for the teenager as she picked up her maiden Grand Slam title in Paris.

Yuan will hope to produce another fine showing, but this is likely to be a routine victory for Andreeva.
