Yibing Wu vs Michael Zheng prediction
Yibing Wu has not featured on the tour since a third-round defeat at the US Open to seven-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz. The Chinese player had beaten Adam Walton and James Duckworth to advance to that stage of the tournament. Wu’s best ATP result of 2026 was a quarter-final appearance at the Mexican Open, while he also won a Challenger event in Sarasota.
He takes on Michael Zheng in the first-round of the Shanghai Masters. Zheng enters the main draw as a lucky loser, following a loss in qualifying to Nicolas Mejia. The American has progressed to three semi-finals on the Challenger Tour, along with two third-round appearances at Wimbledon and the US Open.
Wu leads the overall head-to-head 2-0 after a couple of Challenger wins, but this is their first official tour-level meeting. Both players possess plenty of power from the back of the court, which could lead to them cancelling each other out at times.
