Yannick Hanfmann vs Kamil Majchrzak prediction

Yannick Hanfmann’s losing run extended to three matches after failing to qualify for the China Open with a defeat to Tomas Machac. There have still been some positive signs for the German this season, with a final appearance in Santiago being the highlight. However, his recent results are a cause for concern, and he will hope for a few wins in Shanghai.

He plays Kamil Majchrzak in round one. The Pole lost in the final stage of qualifying for the Japan Open to Arthur Fils. He also suffered a second-round loss in Hangzhou to Bu Yunchaokete. Majchrzak did win his first tour-level title this season after success at the Libema Open, beating Daniil Medvedev, Felix Auger-Aliassime and Alex de Minaur.

Majchrzak is not in particularly strong form, but he is a more effective hard court player in comparison to Hanfmann overall. He also leads the head-to-head 1-0 against the German.
