Yannick Hanfmann vs Juan Manuel Cerundolo prediction
Yannick Hanfmann advanced in Rio after he defeated Jose Lucas Reis Da Silva in straight sets. The German was pegged back after going an early break up in the first but still took the lead after winning the set on a tiebreak. He was broken in the second despite establishing a 3-0 lead, though Hanfmann would go on to win 7-6 (3) 6-4.
He now goes up against Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the next round. The Argentine claimed a fine win in round one as he beat second seed Luciano Darderi. The Italian had only lost in the final of the Argentina Open two days earlier to Juan Manuel’s brother Francisco. Cerundolo made a fast start and kept his composure in the deciding set to win 6-1 3-6 6-4.
Cerundolo leads the ATP head-to-head 2-0 against Hanfmann. He should take a lot of confidence from his win over Darderi into this one, as he aims for a deep run.
