Xiyu Wang vs Sara Bejlek prediction
Xiyu Wang is ranked just inside the top 100 of the world rankings, as she begins her campaign at the Canadian Open. The Chinese player did compete in Memphis last week, losing her first-round match against Caty McNally in three sets. Wang’s best result of the season was her superb run to the round-of-16 at Roland Garros. She qualified for the event and then defeated the likes of Hailey Baptiste and Yuliia Starodubtseva, before a straight sets loss to Sorana Cirstea. She has also won three lower-level titles in 2026.
Her first-round opponent is Sara Bejlek. The Czech’s highlight of the campaign was her superb title run at the Abu Dhabi Open, which saw her beat Ekaterina Alexandrova in the final. The 20-year-old then struggled to produce the same consistency for the next few months, but she has reached the quarter-finals at her last two events in Athens and Prague.
Bejlek will be the favourite to come through this one.
