Xinyu Wang continued her run of form with a comfortable win over Rebeka Masarova to make the quarter-finals at the Transylvania Open. The Chinese player broke on four occasions and only conceded the one break point as she won 6-4 6-2 after just one hour and 20 minutes. She got through to the round-of-16 at the Australian Open and has won 10 of her 13 matches in 2026 so far.

She goes up against Oleksandra Oliynykova next. The Ukrainian picked up her second straight win this week with a straight sets win over Anna Bondar. Oliynykova broke at the start of the match and that proved to be the difference in the first set. Two more early breaks in the second were enough to hand her a 6-4 6-4 win.

Wang is performing well and as the fourth seed, she has a strong chance of making it through to the latter stages and winning the title.
