Xinyu Wang vs Leylah Fernandez prediction

Xinyu Wang won her first grass court match of the season as she thrashed Renata Zarazua in her first-round match at the Bad Homburg Open. The Chinese player hammered down 15 aces, won 88% of her points on first serve and was not broken as she won 6-1 6-2 after just an hour and three minutes.

She will now face Leylah Fernandez for a place in the quarter-finals. Fernandez ended a four-match losing run and exacted revenge on Katie Boulter for her defeat at Queen’s Club, as she came from a set down to beat the former British number one. Boulter was up a break twice in the decider, but Fernandez roared back and won the final four games to complete a 6-7 (5) 6-3 6-3 win.

Wang impressed in her first-round match, especially on serve, and Fernandez will need to adapt at times if she is to get the better of her opponent in this one.
