Xinyu Wang vs Elina Svitolina prediction
Xinyu Wang reached her first quarter-final since February and made it back-to-back wins at the Bad Homburg Open as she defeated Leylah Fernandez in straight sets. The Chinese player made a strong start as she won five of the first six games on her way to taking the first set. She then opened up a 3-0 lead at the start of the second, though Fernandez would go on to level the set at 4-4. Wang broke again as Fernandez served to stay in the match to win 6-3 6-4.
She will now face Elina Svitolina for a place in the semi-finals. The Ukrainian came from a set down to beat Liudmila Samsonova in her opening match. Svitolina was also 2-0 down at the start of the decider, but she then won the final six games of the encounter as she clinched a 3-6 6-3 6-2 win after two hours and 12 minutes.
Svitolina leads the head-to-head 2-0 and 1-0 on grass. They faced each other at Wimbledon two years ago, with the world number eight comfortably winning 6-2 6-1.
