Wigan Warriors Team News: Too soon for French

Bevan French is expected to remain out despite being named in the squad, which hurts this Wigan Warriors side offensively. Luke Thompson also misses out again, but Jack Farrimond is likely to return for Matt Peet’s side.

Squad: Jai Field, Abbas Miski, Adam Keighran, Jake Wardle, Liam Marshall, Bevan French, Harry Smith, Ethan Havard, Brad O’Neill, Junior Nsemba, Liam Farrell, Kaide Ellis, Patrick Mago, Liam Byrne, Kruise Leeming, Tyler Dupree, Harvie Hill, Sam Walters, Zach Eckersley, Jack Farrimond, Jacob Douglas

Wakefield Trinity Team News: Plenty of names missing

Wakefield Trinity won’t have Ky Rodwell available for the trip across the Pennines after he was ruled out with a back injury. This match also comes too soon for Caleb Hamlin-Uele as he continues his recovery from a calf issue.

Squad: Max Jowitt, Lachlan Walmsley, Cameron Scott, Tom Johnstone, Jake Trueman, Mike McMeeken, Liam Hood, Seth Nikotemo, Josh Griffin, Jay Pitts, Renouf Atoni, Matty Storton, Isaiah Vagana, Oliver Pratt, Mason Lino, Mathieu Cozza, Josh Rourke, Harvey Smith, Caius Faatili, Noah High, Ellis Lingard

Wigan Warriors vs Wakefield Trinity Prediction

A 6-10 defeat at the hands of Hull KR at the Brick Community Stadium likely ended Wigan Warriors’ hopes of surpassing Willie Peters’ men in the race for the League Leaders Shield. But Hull KR’s surprise loss away at Leeds Rhinos has potentially throw the title race open again with this being the Warriors’ game in hand.

Wigan normally respond well to losing under Peet, who will no doubt have his players extremely fired up for the challenge. Wakefield Trinity are a solid mid-table side capable of surprising opponents. However, Wigan are challenging at the top end for a reason and that should be reflected in the result here.
