Warrington Wolves Team News: Shock retirement

Warrington Wolves were hit by the sudden retirement of 23-year-old centre Connor Wrench during the week. Obviously, this rules him out of this match whilst Ben Currie, Lachlan Fitzgibbon and James Harrison are all missing through injury.

Squad: James Duffy, Matt Dufty, Ben Hartill, Leon Hayes, Adam Holroyd, Alfie Johnson, Toby King, Ryan Matterson, Tom McKinney, Joe Philbin, Sam Powell, Stefan Ratchford, Ewan Smith, Marc Sneyd, Jake Thewlis, Josh Thewlis, Luke Thomas, Danny Walker, George Williams, Max Wood, Luke Yates

Salford Red Devils Team News: Croft newest loanee to debut

The latest player to be signed on loan by Salford Red Devils is Wakefield Trinity’s Jack Croft and he will make his first appearance here. The visitors can also call upon Jayden Nikorima, who is back following an injury suffered last month.

Squad: Jayden Nikorima, Joe Mellor, Loghan Lewis, Justin Sangare, Sam Davis, Harvey Wilson. Kai Morgan, Nathan Connell, Charlie Glover, Tiaki Chan, Toby Warren, Dan Russell, Declan Murphy, Jack Darbyshire, Neil Tchamambe, Louix Gorman, Leon Ruan, Rowan Milnes, Jack Walker, Jack Croft, Isaac Shaw

Warrington Wolves vs Salford Red Devils Prediction

It’s been an utterly underwhelming Super League campaign for Warrington Wolves, who currently sit eighth-place in the table with just ten wins from 23 games. Their most recent match saw them beaten 23-10 by Huddersfield Giants, one of the few teams below them in the table. But a loss here against what is essentially a pick-up squad would be the ultimate embarrassment.

Salford Red Devils are understandably way out of their depth at this level and right now, it’s about them just scrapping together enough players, mainly loanees in order to get themselves through the season. Anything more than that would be a bonus, but more heavy losses will be expected in the process, including here.
