Vit Kopriva vs Yunchaokete Bu prediction

Vit Kopriva makes the transition back to hard courts after competing in two clay court tournaments following on from Wimbledon. He reached the second-round in both Bastad and Umag. The Czech has failed to win consecutive matches since his fine run from the qualifying stages to the third-round of the Italian Open in May. This will be Kopriva’s first hard court main draw match on the ATP Tour this season.

He takes on Yunchaokete Bu. The Chinese player is in identical form to his counterpart, having also got to the same stage of those clay court tournaments. He does have far more experience on hard courts this season and did reach the quarter-finals in Montpellier near the start of the year, his best result on the ATP Tour during this campaign.

Bu does hold the greater pedigree on this surface, and is likely to be slightly more suited to the conditions and bounce in Toronto. He may just have enough to reach round two on this occasion.
