Vit Kopriva challenged world number three Alexander Zverev in his first-round match at the Halle Open, losing 6-3 4-6 6-2. The Czech then competed in Mallorca, beating Damir Dzumhur and Ignacio Buse before a hard-fought loss to Ethan Quinn. He is yet to win a match at Wimbledon, following first-round defeats in 2024 and 2025.
He will play Jan Choinski. The Brit advanced to his first tour-level quarter-final at Eastbourne, as he qualified for the event and beat Alexei Popyrin and Felix Gil. However, he was then on the end of a straight sets defeat to Zizou Bergs. He did advance to the second-round of Wimbledon in 2023.
Choinski leads the head-to-head 2-1, but this is their first match on grass. Kopriva’s consistency should keep him competitive throughout, but this is a good opportunity for Choinski to win another first-round match at his home slam.
