She comes into this event as a lucky loser after being defeated by Eva Lys in qualifying.
Maya Joint’s momentum has stalled somewhat as her season draws to a close. It has been a breakthrough year, with the Australian getting up to 34 in the rankings and winning her first two titles. However, she could only make the third-round of Beijing and then lost in the second-round of the Wuhan Open. Joint’s last tournament was in Ningbo, but she failed to qualify.
