Victoria Mboko vs Elena Rybakina prediction

Victoria Mboko continued her upturn in form as she demolished Eva Lys in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals of the Pan Pacific Open. The Canadian had not won a match on tour since her stunning home title win in Montreal, but she’s now picked up two victories and the win over Lys took just 55 minutes. The 19-year-old won 6-1 6-1.

She goes up against Elena Rybakina in the next round of the tournament. Rybakina picked up an impressive win over Leylah Fernandez in the previous round. Both players had won titles during the previous week, but Rybakina’s serve and groundstrokes proved too much for the Canadian, as she won 6-4 6-3.

The head-to-head is tied at 1-1 after two matches earlier in the season. Rybakina won the first in Washington, but Mboko staged a fabulous comeback in the semi-finals of the Canadian Open two weeks later en route to her historic title. Nevertheless, Rybakina needs just one more victory to ensure her place at the Tour Finals in Riyadh and she will be up for this.
