Victoria Mboko vs Bianca Andreescu prediction
It’s been tough going for Victoria Mboko as she has still been unable to win a match since her stunning triumph at the Canadian Open in August. The 19-year-old lost in the first-round of the US Open and hasn’t picked up a victory during the Asian swing so far. More worryingly for Mboko, she did not win a set in any of those defeats.
Bianca Andreescu is her opponent in the first-round. Her results have been rather unspectacular since returning from a two month injury as the former US Open champion lost in the first-round of Beijing and Osaka, while she failed to qualify in Wuhan. It’s been a tough season for Andreescu, who has seen her campaign largely affected by her struggles with remaining injury-free.
These two are also playing doubles together at the event. Mboko could be low on confidence after a poor run, but Andreescu is unlikely to cause her too many problems here. This is a very presentable opportunity for the youngster to end her losing streak.
