Venus Williams vs Sofia Kenin prediction

Two-time US Open singles champion Venus Williams is set to make another appearance at Flushing Meadows after receiving a wildcard to compete at Flushing Meadows. The 46-year-old won this event in 2000 and 2001, having also made her debut back in 1997. Williams has lost all 11 of the singles matches she has played this season, with her latest defeat being a 6-2 6-2 loss to Emiliana Arango in Cincinnati.

She will face Sofia Kenin in round one, with the American also entering as a wildcard. The 2020 Australian Open champion has dropped outside of the world’s top 100 in the rankings. Kenin did win her opening round match in Cincinnati after coming from a set down to beat Eva Lys, and she was also close to pulling off an upset victory against Marta Kostyuk, losing in three close sets.

Kenin is the clear favourite to come through this match with a victory.
